People love to play games and they love to watch others play, so it’s no surprise that game shows have been popular almost as long as televisions have been in existence. Here is a list of the top 8 game shows of all-time. Check them out and see if you agree that they are some of the best game shows ever.

  1. The Price is Right

The familiar face of Bob Barker saying, “Come on Down!” was a staple in many homes for 35 years. Even though he is no longer the host, the idea of guessing prices on items to win prizes and cash has carried on with Drew Carey.

  1. Jeopardy!

This is the game show for anyone whose mind is filled with endless bits of trivia. A unique twist makes the show stand out. You must give your answer in the form of a question. Alex Trebek has been the host so long, most people forget he wasn’t the first.

  1. Wheel of Fortune

The longest running game show is still popular with people who enjoy a much more complex version of hangman. If you can guess the phrase on the board, you can win big money. Pat Sajak and Vanna White have become household names thanks to the show.

  1. The Amazing Race

Not all game shows are played out on a stage. The Amazing Race allowed real people to get in on the action and race around the world over several weeks to win the big prize. This is the ultimate game show for any traveler.

  1. Match Game

A game show that has been around off-and-on since the 1960’s, the Match Game allowed everyday people to team up with celebrities to guess the answers to tough questions. Some of the regular celebrities really brought this game to life.

  1. Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

This game show flew into the TV spotlight when it first aired. It is still one of the most popular game shows, where contestants try to answer questions to reach one million dollars.

  1. Deal or No Deal

This is relatively new game show, introduced in 2005 but has still become a favorite. Hosted by Howie Mandel, contestants have to decide which suitcase holds one million dollars. They can stop at any time to win different prize amounts or keep going for a chance at the ultimate prize.

  1. Hollywood Squares

This game show took a relatively simple game of X’s and O’s and made it appeal to a mass audience. Players selected celebrities, who were set up in a square, to answer a question. If the celebrity got the right answer or the contestant disagreed with them, they got an X or O in the square. Three in a row gave them the win.
